An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that is done to trim away excess skin and fatty deposits that obscure your toned and contoured arms.

- The ability to wear sleeveless clothes and swimwear
- Restore a more attractive overall appearance
- Increased self-esteem and body confidence
Candidates: Are you ready for an arm lift?
- Bothered by loose upper arm skin
- At a stable weight for at least six months
- No future plans for substantial weight loss
- In good overall health (both physical and emotional)
The basics: An arm lift at a glance
- General anesthesia
- Recovery time of about 2- to 3-weeks

The recovery: What to expect as you heal
Two to three weeks off from work.
Two to three weeks off from work. You should plan to take two to three weeks off from work while you recover from your brachioplasty.
Pain + swelling.
Pain, swelling and soreness is to be expected. To minimize these effects, sleep with your arms elevated and take your prescription pain medication as directed by Dr. Lewis.
Limit physical activities.
Limit physical activities. Avoid exercise and most physical activities (except light walking around the house) for the first week. Wait a full six weeks before running, lifting heavy objects and engaging in other strenuous activities.
Common concern: What will my scars look like?
If you have a standard upper or extended arm lift, some degree of scarring is inevitable. However, Dr. Lewis will make sure that the lines are well-concealed. Although they may be quite noticeable immediately after surgery, the scars typically fade with time.
