Transforming your inner and outer thighs
The inner thigh lift addresses the area from the groin to the knee. The incision is made from the groin to just above the knee, and through that opening Portland plastic surgeon, Dr. Lewis, can remove unwanted fat and sagging skin. In some cases, he will also perform liposuction to contour the leg.
The outer thigh lift involves an incision in the groin and around the hip and buttock. Through that extensive opening, Dr. Lewis can contour the outer thighs and buttocks, removing a substantial amount of tissue.
If you exclusively want to address sagging skin and unwanted fat on the upper portion of your thighs, the mini thigh lift may be right for you. The only incision is a short cut in the groin, and through that opening Dr. Lewis can tighten and firm the upper thigh area. Because it’s a less intensive procedure, it also results in a much shorter recovery period when compared to the standard inner and outer thigh lifts.
After your surgery
Upon waking up after surgery, your thighs will be bandaged and drains will be placed to prevent the accumulation of blood and fluids in the area. You will also be wearing a compression garment.
You will need a friend or family member to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours, as you will need help preparing meals and moving around the house. Try to rest as much as possible during the initial recovery period, as sleep helps your body heal.
You should be ready to return to work within two to three weeks. Within a month, your swelling and bruising should subside, and in about eight weeks you can resume regular exercise and more strenuous activities.
